Shida Kartli, Gori district: the foot of the north-eastern slopes of the Trialeti range on both banks of the Atenuri river, with vineyards at 620–750 m in Patara Ateni, Gardateni and Didi Ateni. Atenuri is a white sparkling wine made by secondary fermentation, based on Chinuri and Goruli Mtsvane, with Aligoté permitted.

Atenuri is a white PDO from the Ateni gorge near Gori in Shida (Inner) Kartli, made from Chinuri with Goruli Mtsvane and Aligoté, traditionally in a lightly sparkling / naturally fizzy style. It is a distinctive regional appellation with no notable authenticity concern; the wine should come from the registered Ateni zone.
