About the variety
Cabernet Sauvignon is a French red variety; DNA data recorded in VIVC show it to be a cross of Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. It is one of the few international grapes named in Georgia's official list of permitted varieties, which recommends it for Inner Kakheti. In Georgia it is made as a varietal wine and in blends.
