Run by the ExpoGeorgia exhibition centre in Tbilisi alongside the WinExpo Georgia fair; the 2026 edition was the 16th. Blind tasting, stated by the organiser and confirmed by an independent report on the 2023 edition; the named international jury is headed by Tim Atkin MW and includes two more Masters of Wine and the co-chair of the Decanter World Wine Awards (11 judges from 7 countries in 2023). Weight is moderate rather than major because a medal as such filters little: in 2023 more than 250 samples from 80 companies produced 159 awards — about 64% of entries were decorated. Gold is far stricter: 9 golds in 2023, about 3.6%. The competition publishes no rulebook, no scoring scale and no entry numbers by year, and samples are submitted for a fee, so the judging pool is self-selected.
