Map

One map in three views: wineries and their places, vineyards and appellations. Tabs keep them apart — dots and fills do not fight each other.

The map

Pick a layer, then a place.

Coordinates come from the wineries themselves (the Natural Wine Association directory) and from open sources; where a point is taken at village level and several wineries share it, the card lists them all. Base map — OpenStreetMap via OpenFreeMap.

Coordinates and basemap

Where the dots come from, and how precise they are.

  • Exact address

The dot stands on the place itself: the producer or an open source gave the coordinate, and a person checked it. Unchecked points never reach the map.

  • Village point

The yard is not established: the dot stands on the village and is drawn as a ring. When several producers work from one village they share the dot, and its card lists them all.

  • Basemap

OpenStreetMap via OpenFreeMap: the tiles come from their servers, as with any web map. Basemap data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).

  • What is not on the map

Opening hours — we do not collect them, so check with the producer. Visits and tastings are shown only where confirmed; elsewhere it says “not established”.

Layer sources

  • Wineries — coordinates from the producers themselves (the Natural Wine Association catalogue) and from open sources.
  • Vineyards — OpenStreetMap outlines (ODbL), and for Kvareli and Lagodekhi the Ministry of Agriculture land-use survey; district hectares and grapes — the 2025 vineyard cadastre of the National Wine Agency; district borders — geoBoundaries.
  • Appellations — outlines from the zone specification maps of the National Wine Agency, the Sakpatenti bulletin and Georgian Wine Club: illustrations to the specifications, not legal borders. Backdrop — wine-growing zones from the agency's map.
